Here are some facts about high ability students at CSA Lincoln Elementary.
2016-2017 School year- 21 high ability students attend CSA Lincoln Elementary.
2017-2018 School Year- 36 high ability students will be enrolled at CSA Lincoln Elementary.
One current third grade student was identified as high ability in kindergarten. Of that same group, 16 are now identified as high ability (6 GI, 5 Math only, 5 ELA only).
Two current sixth grade students were identified as high ability in third grade. Of that same group, 11 are now identified as high ability (6 GI, 2 Math only, 3 ELA only).
For each student who is identified as high ability we also:
Create, implement, and share an individualized plan with the student and parents. This plan not only addresses how we will meet those student's needs during the current year, but also plans for future years and growth.
Grades K-6 HA students are given access to an online resource (IXL) that the school purchases for both language arts and math. Students have access to current and future grade level material to use as practice and a resource at home.
Laura Burbrink, our UDL and High Ability coordinator, works with grade level teachers to create and implement high ability lessons for students.
