Juniors and Seniors:   There are several College Representatives visiting next week.

*Thursday: Univ. of Chicago will be here Mod 1

*Thursday: Hanover College will be here Mod 3.

    All Visits will take place in the Main Office Conference room

Any student interested in being on the Swimming and Diving team this year needs to come to the pool Tuesday or Thursday to talk with the coach and pick up important information.

 

There will be a National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day Ceremony on Friday, September 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans, behind the Courthouse, in Columbus.  Over 82,000 Military Personnel are still unaccounted for since WWII, and their families still wait for their return.  Please come out and show your support.

 

Seniors Youth Leadership Day for participating seniors will be Monday, Sept. 24th all day at the Commons.  Students can begin arriving at the Commons beginning at 7:30 am for check in.  Leadership Day will begin promptly at 8:00 am.  Lunch will be served at Noon.  Parents may begin arriving for the recognition part of the day at 12:30 pm, program begins at 1:00.  Attendance will be taken.

 

The Columbus Area College Fair is coming up on Thursday, Sept. 27th at Columbus East from 11:00 to 12:30.  There will be 90+ college representatives here to answer any questions you may have about their school. Make sure to take time to visit the fair. Students and parents are welcome. Students must register in advance at www.gotocollegefairs.com.

 

The finale of Columbus Got Talent will be held on Sunday, September 23rd beginning from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Columbus East Auditorium. There will be fifteen acts competing for the top prize of $1000, including Columbus East's very own Faith Briggs.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students.  Mr. Lewis in the Social Studies Department has complimentary tickets to the first four students who ask for them.
