  • 2015 Columbus Human Rights Essay and Art Contest

The Human Rights Commission has invited the students of BCSC to participate in its 2015 Benjamin M. King Essay and J. Irwin Miller Art Contests. This year’s contest centers on the question, “Do you think diversity is an essential part of education?”

The contest is open to Bartholomew County students in grades 5-12. Students can submit an essay, artwork, or a multimedia entry that addresses the contest’s theme of diversity in education.

One winner will be selected per division for the essay and art contests. The Divisions are as follows: Division 1 – Elementary: grades 5 and 6; Division 2 – Middle School: grades 7 and 8; Division 3 – High School: grades 9-12.

  • Welcome to our new BCSC website!!!

In the spring of 2013, BCSC was working on a project with an M.B.A. cohort group from IUPUC and they strongly recommended that the district rethink our current website design to make it more attractive and more manageable to navigate.  Thus began an exciting journey to redesign our website.  This journey included meeting with focus groups of students, parents and community members to get their ideas on the design, use and navigation of the new website.  We hope that we have met or exceeded the many recommendations that we received throughout this process.  We believe that the new site tells the story of our school district while providing the user with an easy- to-navigate site that provides one with easy access to information or resources in the district.  We hope that you share the same excitement that we have as we roll out our new BCSC website!
