Finite Mathematics prepares students for the mathematics used in social science and business. It prepares students for college statistics. This course is a good option for students planning to pursue most college majors. This includes social science, business, and humanities majors. The course follows the curriculum of M118, Finite Mathematics, from Indiana University. This includes linear regression, matrices, linear programming, and probability. There is an emphasis on applications and mathematical modeling. A TI83+ or TI84 graphing calculator is required. This course may be offered as M118, Finite Mathematics, through Indiana University for 3 semester hours credit and/or as M135 through Ivy Tech Community College.
