Biology I is a laboratory based course. These labs look at the structures and functions of living things. They also look at the interactions of living things with their environment. Students explore cells, tissues, organs, and systems of various species. Students study how organisms depend on one another within populations, communities, ecosystems, and the biosphere. Biology I students gain an understanding of the history of biology. They explore biology in a variety of careers. Finally, students investigate biology questions or issues related to personal needs and societal issues.
