The National FFA is successfully changing lives and preparing students for leadership, personal growth and career success. These lessons, skills, friendships and experiences shape our members and the benefits remain for their entire lives. Members participate in a wide range of agricultural science education activities, leading to the possibility of more than 300 professional career opportunities. Students can participate in 14 different speech events, from Prose and Poetry to Informative and Persuasive Speaking. Our season runs from October to March. This small ensemble meets after school and performs at concerts. Students must be a member of the Choral Program to be a part of this ensemble. firstname.lastname@example.org Show Choir Band The Show Choir Band is an integral part of our show choir here at East, as they provide live accompaniment for their performances and competitions. The band meets once a week with additional rehearsals with the choir as scheduled to prepare for performances and competitions. Students are recommended to be a part of the Band Program, but are not required to be in order to be a part of the Show Choir Band. email@example.com Show Choir Crew The Show Choir Crew is the behind-the-scenes stars of the show choir. This group assists in helping the show choir's performances go smoothly, helping with costume changes, set pieces, and other assorted assistance needed back stage. This is also a great opportunity for students that are interested in show choir to get a feel for what the group is like. In partnership with our local Meridian Kiwanis club, Key Club members make a positive impact as they are serving others in our school and community. Along with the print publication, the newspaper staff also produces content for cehsnews.com, the student news website. As a part of the yearbook staff, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of roles - writing, design, photography, advertising sales, book sales, etc. - to help produce the yearbook. NOTE: To participate in this group, you also have to be enrolled in the Yearbook course. email@example.com National Art Honor Society National Art Honor Society is a club supported by the National Art Education Association, in order to advance art education to young people. Students meet once a month for group art projects and Art Awareness events in the Columbus East community and city of Columbus. This club gives everyone the opportunity to participate in making art to sell, in order to give back to the community. A wide range of 2D and 3D projects, some including tie dye t-shirts, large group spatter/drip canvas paintings, recycled art, and potter's wheel are experienced. NOTE: You must be a junior or a senior with an A- or better in high school art courses. NAHS provides students the means to express themselves and become a patron of the arts! firstname.lastname@example.org HOSA (Future Health Professionals) HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health science instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership. Academic Teams The CEHS Academic Teams compete in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl program. There are five subject area teams (English, Fine Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) and an Interdisciplinary team. Students can play on one or two subject area teams. Every year has a specific theme (World War I in 2018). Teams generally practice once per week beginning in the fall to prepare for two invitational competitions in March, a state qualification competition in April, and the state championship in May at Purdue University. Our academic teams are the most successful competitive team in Columbus East history, having won 14 state championships since 2000. email@example.com
Dance Marathon Organizational Committee
The Dance Marathon Organizational Committee is made up of students from all Bartholomew County high schools who are responsible for planning all aspects of the Dance Marathon fund raiser that benefits Turning Point Domestic Violence Services and Shelter as well as educating students about domestic abuse and teen dating violence. The organizational committee is made up of 10 subcommittees that allow students to develop their leadership skills with support from adult mentors from the community. firstname.lastname@example.org
iGrad is a program that helps students stay on track to graduate from high school on time.This is for students in grades 8th-12th. iGrad Coaches meet weekly with students during their resource time to help them with missing assignments and to help with any life issues going on with the student. iGrad also offers tutors and mentors for students that request it. This is all free. iGrad also has a College and Career Readiness Coach that helps seniors with college applications, FAFSA, scholarships, job applications, and enlisting in the military. The coach also works with 21st Century Scholar students to complete the yearly requirements to stay as a 21st Century Scholar. email@example.com

iGrad is always looking for peer tutors to help tutor fellow classmates. Peer tutors will sign-up for the day, time, and subject they want to tutor. This is done during resource time.
