Keeping Northside in the KNOW
 
 The Spartan Situation is a student driven news publication with the goal of informing and engaging Northside Middle School's learning community.   
 
Staff members will spend the year acquiring skills in a variety of areas including:
- Newspaper terminology
- Considering audience and purpose when writing
- The writing process
    - Prewriting (brainstorming ideas, researching, interviewing, organizing information)
    - Drafting
    - Revising
    - Editing
    - Publishing
- Writing effective leads, articles and headlines
 
The Spartan Situation staff encourages ALL members of Northside's learning community to submit suggestions, articles, photographs, shout-outs or advice questions (Spartacus will give you his best advice!). Use The Spartan Situation envelopes on your team hallway or submit to Ms. Phillips - room 102 or phillipse@bcsc.k12.in.us.
