NURSE’S OFFICE

The nurse’s office is open from 7:45 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The nurse will be available after 2:00 P.M. for emergencies and/or to dispense medications. Students should always have a pass to come to the nurse’s office unless it is an emergency. They should not come during passing period.

A student who has a temperature of 100 degrees or above, a rash of unknown origin, a communicable disease, or is vomiting should remain at home. This protects you and prevents viruses or other infections from being spread.

In the event of illness occurring while the student is at school, that student must be seen by the nurse or office personnel before calling home.

MEDICATIONS

Any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, must be taken to the nurse’s office immediately. A form is available in the nurse’s office for medication brought from home.

Any student taking a prescription medication must have a form filled out by his doctor.  These forms are available in the nurse’s office. Students should never have medications in their lockers, backpacks, etc.

Failure to follow the medication guidelines will result in disciplinary action for the student regardless of parent permission.

All medication should be left in the nurse’s office. If there are special circumstances (inhalers, etc.), these will be considered on an individual basis.
