Beacon is a free after school program designed to help students succeed in school and life, and have a little fun doing it. We meet Monday through Thursday from 3:05-5:00 PM. Each day students have time to work on homework with Northside teachers and students available for tutoring help. They are also involved in enrichment activities including clubs, presentations from guest speakers and service learning projects.Students enrolled in the program also receive a snack each day and bus transportation home after the program. And all of it is completely free.Daily Schedule3:05-3:20 Snack Time--This is time for students to have a snack and chat with their friends after school3:20-4:20 Homework Time--Time for students to work on their class assignments. There are certified teachers as well as other non-certified adults on hand to give students help with their homework. We also have some excellent peer-tutors who give us their time.4:20-5:00 Enrichment Time-- This is a time for students to be involved in clubs they help pick. We also have guest speakers and service projects during this time.
