    BCSF is  happy to share with you,  that thanks to a gift to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation (BCSF), from the Columbus Visitors Center, you are invited to come to the BCSF office inside the BCSC Administration Building, between 8am – 4pm Monday  - Friday, (1200 Central Avenue, Columbus, IN 47201)  to pick up your Columbus, Indiana: Midwestern Modernist Mecca Hardcover book as a gift for your support of BCSF.  The books are located in the foundation office.  If I am not in the office when you come to pick up your gift, please leave me a note that you received your gift.  Suzi Bruin - Executive Director, BCSF
     
     
     
     
    Honor a Colleague

    Would you like to recognize someone who is retiring or leaving the school system? You can do that by making a donation in his/her name. Your contribution to BCSF helps continue the work that benefits students and staff. Eachperson who is honored will receive a certificate and a letter from the School Foundation acknowledging your gift (without reference to the amount).

    Download and mail the form and a check to the address on the form. Be sure to include a message you would like sent to the honoree.

    If you prefer to donate online, send an email to schoolfoundation@bcsc.k12.in.us to tell us the name and school/building of the honoree you wish to recognize. Include a message you would like sent to the educator.

    Honor an Inspirational Educator

    Are you looking for the perfect gift or recognition for a special school employee who has made a difference in your student's life? Consider honoring that "Inspirational Educator" who has helped your student or family in some way! This could be a teacher, food service staff, principal, teaching assistant, bus driver/monitor, counselor, administrative assistant, school board member, library staff, administrator, or any number of school employees who work daily to improve the lives of our students and their families. Each person who is honored will receive a shiny apple pin and a letter from the School Foundation acknowledging your gift (without reference to the amount).

    Mindy Lewis Above & Beyond Diversity Awards

    To honor the efforts of Mindy Lewis advancing diversity in our community and state, The Cummins Foundation provides $2,500 annually to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation to award money to Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation employees who make or have made significant contributions to improving diversity in BCSC.

    Mindy Lewis is a past two term BCSC board member, serving three of those years as board president. She has promoted diversity in education on the local, state and national level by serving with multiple organizations concerned with inclusiveness and equality. Upon Mrs. Lewis’retirement, Cummins Inc. desired to address diversity in our district throughthis award. The nominations are made by colleagues and the winners are selected by the Diversity Leadership Committee. Recipients share equally in the $2,500 award.

     

    "Out of theBox" Ross Wallace Innovation Award

    The Innovation Award is in honor of Ross Wallace—an energetic, creative, problem-solving educator of over 40 years. His professional career was dotted with bold, innovative initiatives. In his vast experience in the classroom and as an administrator (at Ogilville,Taylorsville, Mt. Healthy, Booth Setser and Southside), Ross provided the best learning environment for students. He showed compassion loaded with “Unicorns” and “Warm Fuzzies.” In combination with acompassionate approach, Ross never compromised the consistently high expectations he held for all students. His daily motivational techniques were truly built around “Good—Better—Best.” While providing a model of perseveranceand patience, Ross possessed the unique ability to deliver both a “swift kick”and a hug simultaneously. As a member of BCSC’s Educator Hall of Fame, Ross met challenges with a sense of humor and a keen insight into human nature! In all circumstances, Ross Wallace kept students at the center of decisions and actions. Mr. Ross Wallace passed away in 2008. His family lives locally.

    This award is intended for the individual employee or team of employees who have an innovative idea that  benefits student learning and improves the teaching process. A rubric will be used to evaluate the degree of student benefit and improvement. There is a $500 stipend for the recipient.
