Info about me
This is my 8th year of teaching Spanish in Columbus. As I tell all of my students, the ability of speaking
more than one language opens up so many opportunities for their lives. From communicating while traveling with family and friends, to working in industries where the language skill is needed, Spanish can provide ample opportunities for employment.I never thought I would be a teacher. I have a B.S. from Indiana University in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish. I have been a probation officer in Chicago, a Human Resources Manager, and now a teacher. Because of my ability to understand, write and speak Spanish, I was able to step into many different careers. I will say that teaching has been the hardest job I have ever had, but also the most rewarding. I love kids, and that is what brings me to the classroom every day - the love of helping your child gain confidence and a desire to learning Spanish and to be a good citizen.I am married to my husband John, and we have one daughter Betsy who is currently a student at Purdue University. We have a black lab Dixie too! I love to travel, read and watch any kind of sport. My favorite is football, but when it's time for college basketball I can be known to get a little crazy!I can be reached by email: firstname.lastname@example.org at any time. I will be more than happy to arrange any type of meeting, whether on the phone or in person. I am always willing to help students before or after school, during 4th period or by appointment. I look forward to a great year!
