    Our Drama Club This is a Test


    Northside Players is
    the extra-curricular theatre program
    at Northside Middle School.
    --Open to all Northside students in good standing. 
    Students can participate as:
    --Actors.  Must audition for roles.
    --Crew members for the plays.
    --In Drama Club sessions.
    --No previous experience is necessary.

    After school in the Commons
    Come learn how to get involved in theatre with the Northside Players.  This breif meeting will talk about the two plays we'll be doing this year and how you can get involved.
    We mount two productions a year in all kinds of styles:
    --an occasional musical
    Recent productions include:
    --Snow Angel
    --The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza
    --50 Reasons NOT to Be in a Play
    --In a Grove:  Four Japanese Ghost Stories
    --The Phantom Tollbooth
    --Night of the Living Spartans
    --Idiot's Guide to Surviving High School
    --All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play

    Specific plays are announced the year that they are produced; productions usually occur in the 1st and 4th nine weeks.
    A majority of our work on plays will take place at North High School. Students are expected to walk to the high school after the day is over at Northside.

    Auditions for the Fall Plays:
    Wednesday, August 22 or
    Thursday, August 23   
    After school in the Commons
    People wanting to be onstage should plan on staying only one day until 5:00. 
    Those interested in working backstage only can fill out a form at the call out meeting or stop by for 5 minutes and fill out a form.
     Our Show:
    Two Playscripts, Both Alike in Dignity
    By Stephen Gregg, Where We Play Our Scenes
    The evening will be a collection of two plays written by Stephen Gregg.  They are Small Actors, about a girl who lies to her family about the role she gets in a production of Romeo and Juliet, and This is a Text about a student who didn't prepare for her Romeo and Juliet test because she got a myseterious text the night before.
    Public performances are Wednesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 20 at North Auditorium.
    Tickets are available at the door for $5.

    Drama Club Sessions are workshops that:

    --Meet once a week only when we aren't doing a play.
    --Have theatre games.
    --Develop acting skills.
    --Learn backstage skills.

    --Always meet at Northside.

    --Drama Club Sessions will not happen until spring, 2019

     Students are expected to:
    --Maintain good grades.
    --Treat facilities with respect.
    --Treat staff with respect.
    --Treat fellow participants with respect.
