Northside Drama ClubNorthside Players isthe extra-curricular theatre programat Northside Middle School.--Open to all Northside students in good standing.Students can participate as:--Actors. Must audition for roles.--Crew members for the plays.--In Drama Club sessions.--No previous experience is necessary.AUDITIONS FOR OUR FALL PLAYMonday, August 29 or Tuesday, August 30 After school in the CommonsPeople wanting to be onstage should plan on staying one day until 5:00. Those interested in working backstage only need to stop by and fill out a form.We mount two productions a year in all kinds of styles:--comedies--dramas--an occasional musicalRecent productions include:--The Phantom Tollbooth--Night of the Living Spartans--Crazytown--A Complete Idiot's Guide to School--All I Really Needed to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play--Spoon River AnthologySome pictures of the plays can be found on the links here to the left.Specific plays are announced the year that they are produced; productions usually occur in the 1st and 4th nine weeks.A majority of our work on plays will take place at North High School. Students are expected to walk to the high school after the day is over at Northside.Our Fall Play:In a Grove: Four Japanese Ghost Storiesby Eric Coblebased on traditional Japanese folklorePublic performances are Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30 at North Auditorium.Tickets are available at the door for $5 for adults and $3 for students middle school and younger.
Drama Club Sessions are workshops that:--Meet once a week only when we aren't doing a play.--Have theatre games.--Develop acting skills.--Learn backstage skills.--Always meet at Northside.
Students are expected to:--Maintain good grades.--Treat facilities with respect.--Treat staff with respect.--Treat fellow participants with respect.
