Welcome to Mrs. Frost's Literacy Classroom!
This is my third year with the Veritas team teaching the Literacy Lab. I have also been fortunate to have taught on the Trailblazer and Tyro teams. The classroom experiences at NMS along with creating a class for CMS called Exploratory Reading have been FUN! Yes, FUN! Reading is FUN and so necessary as we prepare our kiddos for high school and the exciting times they will face after high school. This year we will explore both fiction and non-fiction selections focusing on teens from around the world facing and conquering challenges. Expect your learner to share information about our novel selections: The Outsider, La Linea, A Long Walk to Water, The Diary of Anne Frank, and The Call of the Wild.
A bit about me: I attended Purdue University for a B.A. and I. U. and IUPUI for my degrees in English and Masters in Leadership. (I really do think Purdue and IU are AWESOME which is tough during football and basketball seasons!) I have two daughters who attended grades K-12 in BCSC schools and then graduated from college for careers in the humanities. One daughter is a registered nurse in Columbus and one is a curriculum developer in New York City. There are currently a set of twin grandchildren who are 3 years old and one grandbaby is expected to arrive in March. My husband works at Cummins and last but not least is our dog, Little Orphan Annie.
